I was eleven, the year was 1951 and I had just moved from the U.S.A to Liverpool. It was the middle of November, and it was bitingly cold. I sat on the chilly sidewalk in the over-sized coat that my father had given to me when I was a tiny girl.It would almost fall off my shoulders. The movers were a noisy and obnoxious bunch, calling raunchily to each other, joking around, and being all-around unprofessional.

I kicked stones quietly, thinking. I hadn't wanted to leave my home in America. I had lived in a small town c
25 Pounds To GoI'm tired and hungry, but I'm still here alive with 25 pounds to go.
My hips are boney, but I'm still here starving with 24 pounds to go.
And I've got no balance, my walk's all dizzy with nothin' much in me, only 20 more pounds to go.
And my momma keeps beggin', sayin' "Please eat, baby!" and I've got 18 pounds to go.
I keep starin' at the scale at the scale, watching that number go down. And I know I've only got 'bout 16 pounds to go.
'Til I'm dead and gone.
But I'm tryin' to be strong, I've got 15 more pounds to go.

April 5th was One Day Without Shoes. i know this is like 2 days late but i took this photo on the 5th. :XD: i did this last year and walked around town with no shoes on. i went to this nursery and the guy thought i was just local. :laughing:
